Amilla Fushi opens, promising new dynamism to luxury tourism

The Small Maldives Island Co. has opened its flagship resort Amilla Fushi in Baa Atoll by promising to deliver the unexpected with ‘Nu-luxury at its finest’

The words Amilla Fushi which are Maldivian for ‘my island home’ describe the central theme of the resort. The resort offers guests a choice of 71 rooms with the smallest measuring a generous 200 square metres, and the largest a palatial 3,000 square metres.

The 1200 metre pool is one of the largest in the Maldives. The Spa, in the silent, verdant garden of the Wild Grove offers fifteen treatment rooms as well as yoga and fitness pavilions. With this number of rooms, each guest receives a complimentary fifty minute spa treatment every day.

Amilla’s restaurants and bars have been uniquely designed to capture the idyllic beauty of the island. Highly regarded internationally as one of the leaders in Australia’s culinary scene, Luke Mangan will be spearheading the resorts’ restaurants.

The Small Maldives Island Co. will open their second property, Finolhu with luxury beach concept is set to be completed in late 2015. Guests will be able to move from one island resort to the other, enjoying the different personalities of each.
